Synopsis

From Apple Original Films and the team behind Top Gun: Maverick comes F1: The Movie, a gripping tale of speed, redemption, and rivalry.

Brad Pitt stars as Sonny Hayes, a once-promising Formula 1 phenom from the 1990s. An accident derailed his rising career. Now, thirty years later, he lives a quiet life as a nomadic racer-for-hire.

His former teammate, Ruben Cervantes (played by Javier Bardem), reaches out. Ruben owns a failing F1 team and needs Sonny’s experience to save it. Sonny reluctantly returns to the grid, racing alongside rising star Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), a bold and confident rookie.

But in Formula 1, teammates are rivals. And as Sonny’s past resurfaces, he must battle not only the competition but also his inner demons. The road to redemption, it turns out, is a team effort.

KPOP DEMON HUNTERS

Critics

Critics and early viewers praise the film for its energy, bold direction, and deep character arcs. Rumi’s journey from self-doubt to empowerment resonates deeply. Jinu’s story adds another layer of emotional insight, rooted in generational pain.

The film’s soundtrack is a standout. Each song pushes the plot forward while keeping audiences dancing in their seats. Animation critics have compared certain sequences to the works of Miyazaki, praising the fantasy elements and atmospheric detail.

From comedic slow-motion bits to explosive battle scenes, KPop Demon Hunters delivers fun, heart, and visual magic in equal measure.

Synopsis

KPop Demon Hunters is Sony Pictures Animation’s vibrant new adventure that blends fantasy, music, and heartfelt storytelling. After the success of the “Spider-Verse” films, this original film is set to charm audiences with its bold animation, emotional depth, and electrifying soundtrack.

The story follows Huntr/x, a powerful K-Pop girl group made up of Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo). They aren’t just idols—they’re chosen warriors. Every generation, a trio of Hunters is called to fight demons and protect humanity. Their music fuels the Honmoon, a magical shield that blocks the demon king Gwi-Ma (voiced by Lee Byung-hun) from taking over the world.

But things get complicated when The Saja Boys, a rival K-Pop boy band, rise to fame. Led by the soulful Jinu (Ahn Hyo-seop), they may be more than just pop idols—they could be unwitting pawns of the enemy.

Through massive stadium concerts, high-flying battles, and songs of truth and courage, the film explores themes of shame, trauma, identity, and unity. The final performance of “What It Sounds Like” becomes a defining moment for Huntr/x, especially for Rumi, whose personal backstory gives the film its emotional heartbeat.

Directed By

The film is directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, both former visual artists on Puss in Boots (2011).

HEADS OF STATE

Critics

Early critical response highlights the film’s energetic action and star chemistry, though some reviews note the plot leans heavily on familiar buddy-cop tropes. Still, Heads of State offers solid laughs and big spectacle, making it a fun ride for fans of action-comedy mashups.

The two leaders—reluctantly trusting no one but each other—team up with sharp and resourceful MI6 agent Noel Bisset, played by Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

M3GAN 2.0

Critics

M3GAN 2.0 doubles down on sass, spectacle, and internet-ready moments. It’s funnier, more vulgar, and faster with its punchlines. But critics agree: this isn’t horror anymore. The sequel drops most of its scares in favor of comic timing and tech commentary.

The action is bigger. M3GAN (voiced again by Jenna Davis) brings the same sarcastic charm. The kill scenes get more creative, though the film keeps violence toned down—likely for a PG-13 rating.

Critics noted that while the movie toys with timely themes—AI control, tech monopolies, and digital privacy—it rarely dives deep. The two-hour runtime also draws criticism for dragging in places, padded with extra jokes and side plots that stall the story.

Still, the movie delivers what fans want: camp, chaos, and one-liners from the most stylish android in cinema. It’s not smarter or sharper than the original, but it’s louder and more viral-ready. Reported by Variety / IndieWire / Collider / Film Companion

Synopsis

Delivering laughs over scares, M3GAN 2.0 embraces the viral energy of its predecessor and leans hard into comedy and sci-fi action. Directed by Gerard Johnstone, the sequel moves away from the original’s horror tone and dives into full-blown absurdity—with deadly androids, dance breaks, and tech-fueled chaos.

The film opens like a spy thriller. Somewhere on the Iran-Turkish border, a government-designed glambot named AMELIA (Ivana Sakhno) breaks free. She escapes federal control and sets her sights on hijacking America’s entire artificial intelligence system.

Meanwhile, Gemma (Allison Williams), once the mind behind M3GAN, now speaks out against technology. During a televised speech, she boldly states, “You wouldn’t give your child cocaine. Why would you give them a smartphone?” Her 12-year-old niece Cady (Violet McGraw), once protected by M3GAN, is now a moody pre-teen caught in the crossfire.

Gemma refuses to create another AI, despite pressure from British tech mogul Alton Appleton (Jemaine Clement). But when AMELIA hacks his cloud empire, she threatens to bring about a national tech shutdown and authoritarian rule.

As the FBI hunts Gemma, suspecting her involvement, a hidden twist emerges: M3GAN’s code survived in the cloud. She’s been silently watching over Gemma and Cady. And with the threat of AMELIA rising, M3GAN 2.0 is reborn—complete with a makeover montage and a thirst for vengeance.
